At Casa Modesta in Portugal, the door is always open for holidaymakers who arrive with the same amount of pleasure and joy as when you used to jump into your grandparents' arms. Speaking of grandparents... The grandfather of the owners of this boutique hotel, also known as 'the champ', was the instigator of the project. The walls of this beautiful building house so many memories, that the grandchildren of Grandfather Joaquim Modesto de Brito - a real, old sailor - could not let them be lost. And so Casa Modesta was born.

Not without reason, this surprising accommodation has won several awards, including the Architizer A+ Award 2017 and the Condé Nast Johansens Excellence Award 2017 Best Green Hotel.

Casa Modesta is surrounded by lemon trees, has its own sun terrace and a garden where organic vegetables are grown. The story

The grandfather of the owners of this boutique hotel, also known as 'the champ', was the founder of the project. The walls of this beautiful building house so many memories, that the grandchildren of Grandpa Joaquim Modesto de Brito - a genuine old seafarer - could not let them be lost. And so Casa Modesta was born in the house where Carlos and his sister were also born.

Comfortable and tasteful

The suite hotel comprises 9 rooms with private patios, each purely and minimally decorated, all with sea views. The interior reflects the sleek exterior, vaulted brick ceilings, traditional terracotta floor tiles, wooden furniture, and custom-made cork lamps. You can feel that each room has been very thoughtfully considered. And, thanks to the 'connecting doors' of some rooms, the boutique hotel is also suitable for a vacation with the whole family.

Teamwork

Thanks to the Portuguese owners, Casa Modesta exudes hospitality and warmth. They transformed their family home into a modern boutique hotel, now welcoming guests from all over the world and have already won several awards. Each family member contributes. Carlos welcomes you and Vânia (an architect) designed the boutique hotel. Grandmother Carminda has another task; she takes care of the meals. Teamwork is what makes Casa Modesta such a pleasant stay.

Nature Park

Located in the rugged, green surroundings of the Ria Formosa National Park in the Algarve, Casa Modesta is every nature lover's dream. From the hotel, you can walk through the national park via the eco-trail; meeting flamingos and other birds along the way. And if you take your trusty steed, you'll be on the beach of Fuseta in no time.
