The architect Tiago Silva Dias took into account the surroundings when designing the building, allowing it to integrate into nature as much as possible. Sustainability issues, such as adapting to the local climate and energy efficiency, were also vital in the development. All of this is inspired by the principles of southern Iberian architecture, with as minimal an impact on nature as possible. The landscape architecture by Margarida Quelhas was also thought out in the same lines. Everything is set up in such a way that it respects the surrounding nature and you will find mainly local plants there. The organic garden hosts all kinds of herbs, fruits, and vegetables that are used in the restaurant. In addition, the rooms and public spaces feature pieces of furniture from local partners and designers in an effort to support the local industry.
