Legend has it that the spring water was discovered during ancient Roman times. The Romans discovered the beneficial properties of the water and over the centuries, others too have not overlooked the healing powers of these springs. In the early 19th century, the infamous doctor Juan Andrés Nieto Samaniego studied the chemical composition and therapeutic properties of the spring water. In May 1845, following his research, a thermal bath was built to benefit from the medicinal advantages of the spring water. Since 1910, the baths have been private rather than public, and since 1916, they have belonged to the Cosmet family.

After a thorough renovation by architect Pedro Pablo Fullana Oliver and designer Toni Esteva, Fontsanta Hotel opened its doors in 2012. The spa is equipped with an aesthetic cabin, a double cabin for couples, a manicure and pedicure cabin, and 2 double cabins for massages and body treatments. The team of physiotherapists, beauticians, and chiropractors await you here for a wide selection of treatments and wellness programs. Exceedingly enjoyable! The treatments exclusively use hydrothermal and complimentary techniques. Each treatment also includes a quarter of an hour of relaxation in a thermal bath. You can also lay your towel on the beach at the coast of Colonia de Sant Jordi. Ses Salines is also worthwhile. It has a nice beach and a fun centre. Fancy fresh fish and seafood?
